New home decor website Guildery has just launched and I'm proud to have 3 collections of
textile designs for their beautiful products. The site aims to make decorating easier by allowing
you to mix and match color coordinated looks with contrasting, but complimentary designs.
Made to order in the U.S., their products are high quality and made with care and attention
to detail. They make decorating fun (or the dream of redecorating in my case) with their broad
range of stunning designs and color palettes.

Joshua Tree

giant granite boulders create a surreal backdrop for the various plant life, while thousands of Joshua trees dot the land as far as you can see.

cacti are at once spare yet full of personality. fragile, yet durable.  each unique in shape and proportion. I cannot get enough of them!

This weekend I've been reflecting back on the past year and where I was this time last April, both in my life and with my art.  I took a weekend trip to Joshua Tree that filled me with awe and set me down a slightly divergent path style-wise with my work, one that I've been quietly exploring. Here a few of my favorite pics and illustrations from those travels, inspired by the dusty, washed out colors of the California desert.

I'm honored to be among the artists/makers taking part in this special event here in Austin next weekend!  Feliz is a 3 day celebration of handmade organized by Abby Powell and Natalie Davis. The event starts with a meet and greet Friday Nov 2nd at West Elm, followed by an amazing day of workshops Saturday, ending with a sale at the Palm Door on Sunday. There's a few days left to sign up for a class, so if you're in town take a peek and see what fun you could add to your Saturday (I cannot wait to learn some shibori dying techniques in the indigo dye workshop!)  + I hope you can stop by Sunday to say hello!

Urban Prettiness

It's been a long time since I've done illustrations with people in my personal work, something that use to be central to the art I was making.  I love the surface design I've been doing the past few years, but it was time to take a break and branch out.  This week I did!

Target

Bright, fun, girly....right up my alley.  I couldn't have been more in my element creating this collection for Target back to school.  I was excited to see that the joy that went into making the art comes through in the product sitting on the shelves.  Vibrant colors always hit the spot for me!

I wanted to share a little more of the new branding I illustrated as I see it appearing on the shelves. I love the bright colors! I'm looking forward to the one last scent to arrive.

Howkapow

I've recently had the pleasure of working with Cat & Rog at Howkapow on some new product using

two of my flowerpop designs. They've just introduced these lovely bone china mugs in their summer

collection. They're available individually or in sets of 4.  I'm pleased to have had the opportunity to

work with them, because, not only do they have a wonderful design shop stocked with all sorts of 

unique items, but the quality of their product is the tops.  I'm looking forward to sharing two new

Ivory

I have always dreamed of doing illustration for package design, so when I was chosen to do the illustrations for Ivory's rebranding I was pretty much ecstatic. I'm still pinching myself as I see the new packaging arrive on the shelves. This is the first of 4 scents for soaps + body washes. I'll be posting the rest of them as I see them!

Coasterstone has created 2 new collections of absorbant, decorative coasters using my mod flowers.
The vibrant colors are a beautiful contrast to the sandstone. They come packaged in a set of 4 and

Going Tribal

I've been working on tribal inspired patterns the past few weeks. It's felt great to abandon the fine lines I usually use and get messy with the paintbrush.  Here's a few.  I'd love to see a couple of these on some sophisticated but funky dresses.

Artist Charity Auction

Khristian Howell has organized a wonderful charity auction for this week. Each day beginning Monday, December 5th - Friday, 9th a new batch of items will be up for bid.  Besides all the amazing works, the best part is that 100% of proceeds will be going to the American Humane Society, Toys for Tots and the American Red Cross.  Yes, 100%. Yea!!!  I'm so pleased to be a part of this good cause and hope you'll check it out!

I'm very excited to have my work included in the new Bowie Style Print & Pattern 2 book.  To say that I'm flattered and humbled to see my art among the incredible work in this volume is an understatement.  I've included a few pages here, but this book is packed full of work to gush over. I can already see myself turning to it as a constant source of inspiration.

I'm working with color in a new way on these patterns, mainly, using less of it!  It's a little hard for my eyes to adjust to, but I think I like it!
